| U.F.O./Airliner Near Miss! From Jeremy Ray of Sacramento 6 June 2007 |
Our friend Jeremy Ray lives in Sacramento, California. We've been acquainted for some time now, and I have every confidence in his sincerity. He's been using his camcorder to sweep the skies over his home for anomalous objects since early this year, and has obtained some startling footage to date. On 6 June, 2007, he stepped out of his house for a look at the sky, and noticed a tiny white dot high overhead. He switched on the camcorder, and zoomed in on it. Turned out that it was a twin engine jet airliner flying at between 30,000 and 40,000 feet ( 9100 - 12100 meters ) altitude. Then, much to his surprise, another object came into the field of view. It was moving at high speed toward the nose of the jet! This object looked to Jeremy like a white star. It rapidly approached the jet, and it appeared that a mid-air collision was about to take place! Fortunately, the object passed under the belly of the plane at a slight angle, being lost behind the aircraft for a split second. It then emerged above the fuselage just forward of the vertical tail, passing behind the tail and flying off in the opposite direction of the airliner. This object came so close to that passenger plane that the light it was emitting reflected off the aluminum on the belly of the aircraft. THAT'S CLOSE!! .When it reappeared above the fuselage just ahead of the vertical tail, its light again reflected off the polished aluminum surface of the plane for just an instant. It seems fair to conclude that the flight crew must have seen this thing coming at their windscreen from their cockpit seats. When the object passed along the right side of the plane, passengers were sure to have seen it from their windows. What a sight that must have been! One has to wonder if any reports were filed about the incident. When U.F.O.s pose a direct threat to air traffic safety, someone needs to be told about it. It's long been known that the Federal Aviation Agency ( FAA ) does not acknowledge such events, and try to cover them up from the public. Airline pilots who have had similar experiences to this one, and wish to report same in confidence are encouraged to contact NARCAP. Retired NASA scientist Richard F. Haines, who accepts reports, will be very glad to help. A careful and thoughtful analysis has been prepared for your examination below. Let's take a few moments to study the evidence for this frightening occurrence now, shall we? |

This animated GIF is made up of 13 frames, zoomed 200%, and running at three frames per second to slow things down a bit. The black margin to the left is caused by my adjusting the image to bring the aircraft as close to center as possible at all times. |

These four frames were selected to demonstrate how the object appeared to brighten when close to the aircraft itself. |
| I believe the reason for this is that the amount of light received by Jeremy's camera was doubled at those points when the object was closest to the airplane. This is because it was capturing both the light from the object itself, AND the light reflecting off the polished aluminum surface of the plane. I can't think of any other reason for the image of the object to be so much more intense in only those two frames where is was closest to the airliner. WOW! What a close shave this was! Indeed, had the U.F.O. been a just a little closer, the result may have been a gigantic disaster! We'd like to thank Jeremy Ray of Sacramento for sharing this stunning footage with us. There are many stories about U.F.O.s coming close to hitting aircraft, but video of such an encounter is extremely rare. We are privileged to have proof of it here. *** At the end of the day, it's up to YOU to draw your own conclusions.
