Our friend J.H. lives with her husband and children in north-central Georgia, USA. She is a professional livestock breeder, and a good amateur photographer. She has been invited to take part in a contest by The National Library of Photography. As JH was reviewing photos to enter in the contest, she came upon one picture which included an unusual object. She asked for my help identifying this object. The scene is an old cemetary in north-central Georgia, and in the distance is a dark orb hovering in the sky. I cannot tell you what it is, only what it's not. It's not an airplane, helicopter, atmospheric phenomenon, Sun dog, or a lens flare. The possibility remains that it could be a balloon, as its shape is consistent with same. It would have been better had the object been caught on video, rather than digital still frames, but we have to work with what we get. Here is what our friend JH had to say in her own words. This is the object, enlarged 500%. The pixilation around it means nothing, as the headstones and mountains in the distance also displayed this pixilation on enlargement. |

The image is now enlarged 2000%, and we can see that it may be spherical, since the shadowing displays a gradient from black in center, to bluish-grey toward the edge. |

There is a chance that the object is an unknown. The problem is that we have only one image to work with, and it doesn't show much. So... *** At the end of the day, it's up to YOU to draw your own conclusions.
