A Strange Hovering Object Over Leeds, Yorkshire U.K. |
Andy Ellis, founder and director of Yorkshire UFO INFO was in his back garden on the afternoon of Sunday 3 August, 2003. He was with his Dad, and baby daughter, just enjoying a bit of nice weather. They noticed a strange object hovering over the city of Leeds that afternoon, and Andy fetched his camcorder to make a record of the incident. He transferred a copy of the recording to VHS, and mailed it to me here in California. I received the tape on 5 November, 2003. I reviewed the tape, and captured a series of still shots from the orginal VHS. The object in question hovered for at least ten minutes. It is obviously not a conventional aircraft, balloon, blimp. There is mention on the tape itself, as Andy and his father mused upon what this thing might be, that the object might be a kite. This does not work out though. There was no wind, and the object remains rock steady in one spot throughout it's time in view. What it DOES do, however, is move like an animal of some sort. In the video, one can see it moving an appendage which resembles a neck and head. This is the ONLY movement observed throughout the event. The object did not move up, down, or side to side. Andy zoomed in and out on the apparition again and again, but nothing helped to identify it. There was never any sign of flapping, as with the wings of a bird. My
son, the Japanese monster movie fan, remarked that the object looked
to him just like the giant flying turtle Gamera.
What it actually is remains an unanswered question. Have a look at
the still photos and decide for yourself what this might be. Personally,
I'm stumped. |

| © 2003 Andy Ellis Frame twelve, and last in the series captured from VHS tape. The thing was still hovering in the same place when Andy's camcorder battery went dead. What IS this thing? It looks very much like a tortoise hanging in the air. The way the "neck" protruded and retracted several times on the film is reminiscient of a living animal. But, what animal hovers over a city with no visible means of support. This is a very mysterious object indeed! At the end of the day, it's up to YOU to draw your own conclusions.
