In the center of the "ZOE" (Zone Of Exclusion), there is an island known as Diego Garcia (Pictured Right - CLICK on photo for large version). Discovered by Portuguese explorers in the early 1500s, it is territory of the British Empire today. The native population of nearly 2000 people were summarily evicted from their homes in 1970, to make way for the military.

On this island, by agreement with the UK, there is a sizeable United States Military presence. These include the US Air Force, the US Navy, and the not so well known USAF Space Command. Facilities on the island include sophisticated radar, weather, and satellite tracking stations, as well as a miles long runway to accomodate the largest bomber in the US inventory, the legendary B-52 (Pictured Right On Tarmac At Diego Garcia).

Some may remember that during the 1990 / 1991 crisis and war in the Persian Gulf, TV news broadcasts frequently showed the massive B-52 bombers taking off from the tropical airbase for targets in Iraq. From their base in Diego Garcia, the bomber wings pounded Iraqi military forces in the Iraqi and Kuwaiti deserts for four straight weeks. By the time the ground offensive began in late February 1991, Iraqi soldiers were so dazed, thirsty, starved, and confused, that they were even surrenduring to TV news crews for a drink of water. Those B-52's remain on the island today, and there are now support facilities for the B-2 Stealth Bomber.

Military assets on the island took part in the 2001, and 2003, conquests of Afghanistan and Iraq for oil and big business interests.

Because the shape of the island loosely resembles a human foot, it has been nicknamed by the military as "The Footprint of Freedom". One has to wonder...WHOSE freedom? Certianly not the people of the UK and USA. Perhaps government freedom to negate human rights in addition to government freedom to attack and ravage small countries for their natural resources.

There is a web site provided by the US Military for the information and orientation of US Military personnel assigned to the island. Since the year 2001, the Military links to all of the pages on the US Air Force and Space Command on the island have been disabled. This is due to excessive secrecy. The treasonously staged "terrorist" attacks of 11 September 2001 and the CIA manufactured phony-baloney "War on Terror" have, of course, been used as justification. This is patently absurd! What sort of "sensitive" information could any perceived enemy garner from a sanitized public website? Bush-ler and his gang of thugs simply want EVERYTHING secret from the people they are SUPPOSED to serve.

As you can see when you visit the Information site, not much is still functional. I even tried the link for a picture of Diego Garcia as seen from space. The URL appears to be a link to a NASA offering, but it too is no longer available to the public.

I took snaps of the pertinent pages whilst they were still available on 28 September 2000, so that they may be seen by you the reader. I state again, because of overbearing government secrecy, none of these pages are available to you today. I expect more secrecy, and loss of freedom and libery, as the current (2006) US Government continues to extend it's fascist dictatorship over America.

The island is located just below the equator, southwest of India, near the center of the Indian Ocean. It's a VERY remote location. Diego Garcia is 15 miles (24 km) long, and 37 miles (59 km) from Eclipse Point to Barton Point.

One can also see the B-52 runway marked on the map. The central lagoon serves as anchorage for Naval supply vessels. The main base, also called "Downtown", is located at the top of the west end of the island on Eclipse Point.

Good thing I thought to save this and the others in 2000 when there was still some modicum of freedom in the USA.

(Saved 28 Sept. 2000) Clicking on a link to information about the Military on Diego Garcia found one confronted with a stern warning that one was entering a MILITARY website. It also warned that use of the site subjected that person to government monitoring. Today, it would probably get you on a list for wiretapping of your phone and internet use. Ominous indeed!

Of course, you can't get this far today. There is simply no public access whatsoever.

But wait a minute!! NASA says there are NO such installations in the entire region, let alone a state of the art US Military tracking and relay base.

Also indicated at the far end of the island in this photograph, we see the GEODSS site. This is the home of the other Space Command unit at Diego Garcia. AFSCP Det. 2, 18th Space Surveillance Squadron. This is another outfit whose story is forbidden today.

Please also notice the blatant lie where they state "Diego Garcia has no indigeonous population". OF COURSE NOT...those people were literally evicted from their homes in 1970!

Next we'll have a look at how NASA's mythical "ZOE" relates to Diego Garcia.

Those who have been following the activities of the NASA manned space program, Space Shuttles, and the International Space Station over the years, will be aware that in the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean there is an area NASA calls the "Zone of Exclusion", or "ZOE". Other than cursory definitions, NASA is curiously quiet about this. The above link is the ONLY one (Other than a single reference to this article in an old issue of Filer's Files Weekly Files) that turned up in a Google search. Ironically, the link leads to a TDRSS FAQ page which states that the relay satellite system provides 100% global coverage for space communications.

In this region, NASA stubbornly persists in claims there is no possible communication with the Shuttle as it passes overhead. They say that there is no facility for tracking, or signal relay, out there. In the section above, we have demonstrated that this is a bold-faced LIE. Now let's see the rest of the story.

This painting illustrates a typical example of a Tracking & Data Relay Satellite (TDRSS). These are arranged in a constellation of seven satellites girdling the globe. All of them are in geosynchronous orbit above specific points on Earth. They are similar to the communications satellites which provide telephone and cable TV signals for civilian use.

A Geosynchronous orbit (Also known as a Clark orbit in honour of Sir Arthur C. Clark who originally proposed the idea in the late 1940s) has an altitude roughly equal to the circumference of the Earth (25,000 miles / 40,000 km). At this distance, the satellite moves around the Earth at the same speed as the rotation of Earth, keeping the satellite in the same place in relation to the surface.

These satellites act as relay messengers between orbiting spacecraft like Space Shuttles and ISS, ground stations like Diego Garcia, and command centers in the continental United States.

Here we have a picture showing the TDRS satellite obiting over the so-called "ZOE". It is designated TDRS-3, but is also referred to as TDRS-Z, F-3, and EVEN TDRS-C. They have a LOT of names for this unit. Is this perhaps to sow confusion? NONE of the others in the system have multiple names. It was launched aboard STS-26 in September 1988.

Finally, we have here another picture showing that there is an entire Saturn-like ring of satellites in geosynchronous orbit all round the Earth, and specifically over the "ZOE". .The TDRS-3 satellite has a LOT of company up there.

We have now established beyond any doubt that there are MULTIPLE methods for NASA to communicate with their manned craft on orbit over the region known as the "Zone Of Exclusion". In fact, I have more than one example for you in which they not only communicate within the "ZOE", but also even provided casual television pictures at times when it wasn't important for mission or safety reasons. So what is going on in the tropical paradise of Diego Garcia that NASA, and the military now, deny information to the public about? Why do NASA claim there are no means of communication with Shuttles and the Space Station in this region of the world? Could it be that this is where the true "Secret NASA Transmissions" take place? Is this where UFO observations and video tapes are downloaded to Houston? Could it be that here is the place where secret orders to the Astronauts are sent up to the Space Shuttles, as well as the International Space Station, and their crews? Why else would NASA create the illusion of this false "Zone of Exclusion"?

WHAT IS THE WORLD NOT BEING TOLD ABOUT?

The Space Shuttle and NASA are ostensibly civilian programs with no connection to military secrecy, or military missions. One wonders why there is such an obvious cover-up. Think about it.
