Our friend J.H. lives with her husband and children in north-central Georgia, USA. She is a professional livestock breeder, and a good amateur photographer. She has been invited to take part in a photography contest by The National Library of Photography. Due to many strange objects appearing in photos JH took on 26 June, 04 July, and 18 July 2007, she embarked on a month long photographic study. She was determined to be scientific, take pictures every day for 30 consecutive days, keep notes, and have an open mind. She is more concerned with finding out the truth, rather than search for possible U.F.O.s. JH has taken control pictures as well. She photographed a sheet of blank white paper to ascertain if her camera were producing digital artifacts. She took pictures from the inside of her car of insect splats on the windshield (windscreen JC). JH took photos of a spider in its web against the sky for comparison. She has made pictures of birds in flight, and captured airplanes and helicopters for her records. She found that in SOME of her photos, what first seemed to be an anomalous formation of objects was in fact clouds of gnats. In these ways, JH is showing us that her study is truly scientific. On this page we will concentrate on those control pictures she took at random to confirm known objects, and animals, for comparison to those objects which simply put, don't fit the norm. |
TESTING THE
CAMERA |
![]() |
These photos were taken to test the camera used in the study. JH wanted to be sure that the objects seen in the sky were NOT camera glitches. In this animated GIF, we see examples of the Sun, Moon, and a picture of a blank sheet of white paper. There were no optical artifacts in any of them. Multiple test photos were taken, these three were selected for this demonstration. |
"BUGS" |

JH photographed spiders in different settings so show how they might sometimes be taken for anomalies if misinterpreted. Also included is a shot through the windshield (windscreen) of JH's car. This frame was added to compare the smashed insects to other objects. |

| Above is a cloud of gnats JH noticed on study day 7 (29 July) at the end of her photo shoot for that date. The gnats are small, and difficult to see, so concentrate. | |

Here we will take a close look at an object which would easily fool the less skeptical. Note the tiny dot near the left margin of the photo. A YELLOW arrow is provided to help you locate it. |

Now zoomed 500%, it begins to look quite mysterious! The three fames are normal color, reversed color, and embossed. |

Zoomed in 1000%, this object really gives a strange appearance. Now ofr the facts. JH recognized it as a Japanese green beetle, which are infesting bushes on her property. Once properly identified as a common bug, its wings become easy to pick out. |
| It's easy to see how insects could be misidentified as U.F.O.s overhead. But JH was USING her head, and making sure we didn't go astray. | |
BIRDS |

JH saw many birds during her 30 day study, and photographed a few of them for comparison. |
HELICOPTERS |

These examples of helicopters are from different dates, but included to be thorough. |
JETS |

JH noticed many airplanes of various types during the 30 days of her study of the skies. These three give us some perspective of what they look like in comparison to the anomalies also captured over the course of her program. |
| JH demonstrated a highly admirable, down to Earth scientific method in her project. The fact that she tested her camera for artifacts, and photographed as many different kinds of ordinary phenomena for comparison proves this. She deserves my highest honor and respect for her devotion, caution, and hard work. The next page in the series concerns communications towers in the area of JH's home, and how they might have a bearing on the many anomalies which seem to be attracted there. *** At the end of the day, it's up to YOU to draw your own conclusions.
